Zelda, Original One-of-a-kind Black-and-white Tuxedo Cat Art Doll by Max Bailey

Despite her exotic name, Zelda appears to be sedate, serious, and practical minded. Her soulful yellow eyes look directly out at you, so that you would never think to question her honesty.

No one suspects that Zelda leads two lives. At night, especially on moonlit nights, Zelda could be seen singing and dancing wildly in her back yard, if anyone thought to look. She sings all of her favorite songs, whirling and twirling in the moonlight, bursting with creative energy.

“Was there a party last night?” the neighbors ask.

“I didn’t hear anything,” Zelda responds, and smiles mischievously to herself.

Today, Zelda wears her daytime red flowered pinafore with a ruffled bib. It has a pattern of orange, white, and blue flowers. Her red scalloped shirt and red tights match the pinafore, and her high-button black shoes match her black fur.

Zelda is an original one-of-a-kind work of art, created from my own design and pattern. She is made from 100% cotton fabric which has been sewn, stuffed, and completely hand painted with acrylic paints. Her whiskers are made from stiffened cotton thread.

Zelda’s paws are needle-sculpted, and her arms are button-jointed so that she can pose. Her face was sculpted from paperclay smoothed into her fabric head. Her curled tail enables her to sit by herself on a shelf or a table, or in a cabinet. She can also sit on a chair, or stand with a doll stand. (Chair and doll stand not included.) Zelda is meant for display only.

Zelda is signed and sealed with matte varnish for protection and preservation. She is 8 and 1/2 inches tall.

Matilda the Tuxedo Kitten, Original One-of-a-kind Folk Art Doll Figurine by Max Bailey

Matilda is a tuxedo kitten who charms everyone she meets. Her bright amber eyes are alert and honest, and she is always exquisitely polite.

Today Matilda has been invited to an afternoon garden party, and is properly dressed for the occasion in a pale green dress. Over the dress she wears a darker green polka dot pinafore that ties in a big bow at the back.

To keep the sun from freckling her little pink nose, Matilda plans to wear her best summer straw hat. It is decorated with pink and white flowers on a dark green band. Her white petticoats swirl about below her hemline. She will be a much admired guest.

This is Emmy, and she’s a tuxedo kitten.

Emmy’s eyes are big and yellow and filled with awe and wonder at the world.

Early every morning, Emmy takes her little kitty doll and rushes to the window to watch the sun come up, and another new day begin.

They listen to the birds singing in the trees, and watch the puffy white clouds drift by.

"This is going to be a great day!” Emmy tells her doll, who always agrees.

Emmy is dressed in a country red pinafore banded in gold, with a big gold sash that ties in a bow at the back. There is a pretty dark blue flower on the front of her dress that matches her sleeves. Blue and white petticoats show beneath her hemline. Emmy’s little tuxedo cat doll wears a pink dress with blue polka dots, and she has white petticoats.

Wanda the Tuxedo Cat, Original One-of-a-kind Folk Art Doll Figurine by Max Bailey

Wanda is a striking black and white kitty with big yellow-green eyes and wily white whiskers.

She is interested in everything in the world around her and is always on the lookout for adventures to share with her doll Rowena.

Together Wanda and Rowena run helter-skelter after butterflies. They sneak up on other unsuspecting kitties, and leap out at them from behind bushes. Sometimes, they take out all the food in the kitchen and cook up delightful new dishes.

Every day is a new day to be filled with new surprises and daredevil escapades.

Wanda’s dress is forest green with little blue flowers. Her square neckline has a pale blue ruffle with a gold border. It matches the sash that ties in a big bow at the back. She has white petticoats that can be seen below her hemline.

Rowena has a ruby red dress with gold cuffs, a gold collar, and gold buttons down the front. Rowena’s petticoats are blue and white.

Ziggy the Tuxedo Kitten, Original One-of-a-kind Folk Art Doll by Elizabeth Ruffing

It’s bedtime for Ziggy.

He’s wearing his yellow pajamas, and he’s supposed to be sound asleep. But his bright little eyes are wide open, and he’s ready for another adventure.

When Ziggy’s mother comes into the room, she sees only the white tip of his tail and one yellow foot sticking out from under the bed.

“What are you doing, Ziggy?” she asks, rolling her eyes.

“I’m taking my car for a ride through the tunnel,” answers Ziggy, in muffled tones.

When at last Ziggy has curled up in his bed, he is already making plans for the next day.

“I bet I could take my car for a ride under a waterfall,” he thinks, as he drifts off to sleep.

Ziggy is an original one-of-a-kind work of art, created from my own design and pattern. He is made from 100% cotton fabric which is sewn, stuffed, and completely hand painted with acrylic paints. I sculpted Ziggy’s face from paperclay, which I smoothed into his fabric head. His whiskers are made of painted cotton thread. They were threaded through the paperclay before it dried. No molds were used to create Ziggy.

Ziggy’s curly white-tipped tail supports him very well, so he can sit all by himself on a shelf or a table, or in a cabinet. His arms and legs are button-jointed with decorative metal buttons.

Ziggy’s pastel yellow onesie pajamas are painted on, as are his periwinkle blue collar, cuffs, and buttons. His kitty feet are needle sculpted to give definition to his little kitty toes. He is approximately 5 3/4 inches tall when sitting and about 8 1/4 inches long when stretched out.

Ziggy’s car is made of wood. I painted it pistachio green, with a purple interior. It’s about 3 1/2 inches long and about 1 3/4 inches wide.

Millicent, Original One-of-a-kind Tuxedo Kitten Art Doll Figurine by Max Bailey

This is her first snow, and Millicent is as patient as she is watchful.

The snowball she made is feeling very cold in her paw, and she hopes Tommy shows up soon.

In their one room schoolhouse, Tommy is the boy who sits behind her and teases her all the time. When the teacher isn't looking, he pulls her whiskers, and dips the tip of her tail into his inkwell. Then he calls her "Silly Millie".

Tommy will come around the corner soon. He'll walk right past her like he doesn't even see her. Then WHAP, he'll get a snowball right in the back of his head. Millicent will say "That's for you, Tommy Salami!" The snow will go down his neck, and he'll squeal and run home to his mama.



Millicent smiles to herself. Her little paw tightens on the snowball and her yellow eyes get even brighter. Here comes Tommy now!

Millicent is a young tuxedo kitty with white paws, a white tip on her tail, and a little black patch on her chin. Her yellow eyes are alert and full of mischief.

She wears a maroon Victorian jacket, trimmed with gold braid and brass buttons. Her skirt is vertically striped with green, gold, maroon, and gray, and a green striped scarf is wrapped around her neck and tucked into her jacket. Lots of white petticoats can be seen below her skirt.

I hand sculpted Millicent from paperclay, and used stiffened cotton thread for her whiskers. She is an original one-of-a-kind work of art, and is meant for display only. No molds are ever used in my work.



Millicent is completely hand painted with acrylic paints, then signed and dated and sealed with matte varnish for protection and preservation. She rests firmly on a turned wooden base that is stained and sealed in golden oak, and she stands 7 1/4 inches tall.
